So far this year Airbus have delivered over 28 A350s, the most recent delivery being to Singapore Airlines which marked a milestone of 10,000 deliveries for Airbus. The event was celebrated by a special ceremony in Toulouse hosted by Airbus Group CEO Tom Enders and Goh Choon Phong, CEO of Singapore Airlines also attended.
Airbus’ A350 delivery target for 2016 was set at 50 aircraft, but with only a fraction of the year remaining the pressure is on to meet the goal.
According to FlightGlobal, Chief Operating officer for customers John Leahy admitted that the schedule was “tight” when speaking at the Singapore Airlines event in Toulouse.
He said: “It’s not a walk in the park but I’d be very surprised if we didn’t get there.”
Although the schedule is tight, Airbus is sticking with the target and working hard to speed up production.
Airbus is a leading commercial aircraft manufacturer based in Toulouse, France and has sold over 16,300 aircraft to around 400 customers worldwide.
