CAS Recruitment are proud to be recruiting a Power Plant Engineer on behalf one of our UK based clients. This is a unique opportunity to join a fantastic Technical Services team and work with a business who's brand is recognised the world over for the quality of service it provides.

This is an iconic airline that is growing, forward thinking and dynamic. This role provides a fantastic opportunity for an experienced On Wing Support Engineer or Tech Liaison to progress their career within a Technical Services environment. This is a challenging position that provides both autonomy and responsibility and will enable you to help shape this critical function in partnership with the Powerplant manager. 

This is a challenging but very rewarding position and would ideally suit an experienced on wing support engineer or Tech liasion that would enjoy being actively involved with all aspects of Powerplant Oversight, such as engine shop visits, LLP’s audits, providing trouble shooting support to line engineers and Maintrol etc. The PowerPlant Manager would be keen to support you in further developing your commercial awareness and ability to scrutinise legal contracts.

Now that you know a little about this exciting opportunity lets look at the skill set, experiance requirements and responsibilities of the role;

Experience and Knowledge:

Relevant experience working as an on wing support Engineer or Technical Liaison Engineer.

Excellent working Knowledge of PowerPlants, shop visits, LLP's & preferably borescope experiance.

Experience on modern commercial aircraft types and PowerPlants.


Desirable: EASA Part-66 B1 /B2 licence or Aeronatiucal Engineering Degree

Minimum requirement: Must be CRS Approval

  • Computer literate

  • CF34-8 / 10 experience would be a distinct advantage 

  • Provide support to the team you work in and develop and share your expertise

  • Working knowledge of EASA Part-M regulations.

  • Ability to travel to other bases and overseas when required


  • To ensure the technical performance of the fleet through meeting all performance objectives within the Technical Services arena including safety, airworthiness, technical, reliability and compliance;

  • To deliver focused and efficient daily technical support to Scheduled Maintenance, Line Maintenance, Maintenance Control and all Operational functions to manage defect rectification;

  • Carry out technical investigation arising from Air Safety Reports/Ground Occurrence Reports/Mandatory Occurrence Reports;

  • To deliver technical expertise to enable our clients responsibilities in the following areas to be met:

  • Development of the maintenance policy, including the Approved Maintenance Programme(s) required by Part M.A.302 and analysis of the effectiveness of the Maintenance Programme;

  • Modifications and repairs (changes) are carried out to an approved standard;

  • Review, control and embodiment of Airworthiness Directives and any additional UK CAA

  • requirements;

  • Non-mandatory modification review and embodiment;

  • Aircraft Deferred Defects, Concessions, Repair Interval Extensions, Variations and Minimum Equipment List effect on airworthiness including effective defect rectification;

  • To ensure continued focus on Technical Dispatch Reliability from a Technical Services and reliability perspective in order to meet the company’s TDR;

  • Create workscopes for Engine/APU shop visits and oversee that activity, along with managing key Vendors/OEM/MRO’s to ensure company Engine Maintenance Programme is managed on time and on budget;

  • Carry out regular and proactive engine performance trend monitoring;

  • Actively support Maintrol with rectification of live AOG defects;

  • To make key technical/engineering decisions with respect to safety, reliability and cost;

  • To maintain records and documentation to the appropriate technical and airworthiness standards including a robust document management system;

  • To implement, amend and control Technical Services and Continuing Airworthiness Management procedures;

  • To liaise with aircraft and component manufacturers regarding airworthiness, reliability and modification issues;

  • Act as on-site technical representative for base maintenance inputs and other projects where required;

  • Any other ad-hoc projects to ensure the performance of the department.
